The Village Reimagined for a Modern Mom
Because motherhood was never meant to be done alone. And now, it doesn’t have to be.
The Safety Net Moms Deserve
Kula is a social enterprise reimagining the village for modern motherhood. Kula is the Sanskrit word for “community,” “clan” or “tribe.” In an era where motherhood has become increasingly isolating, Kula exists to build the social infrastructure moms need. Our flagship offering is an in-person, recurring peer support circle, complete with on-site professional child care. It’s designed to give moms the space to be fully present, connect deeply, and feel genuinely supported.
Support That Meets You Where You Are
At Kula, we know that every mom’s journey is different and so are the ways she needs support. That’s why we’re creating a village with many doors in. Whether you’re looking for a close-knit circle, a walking buddy, or just a quick check-in that reminds you you’re not alone, there’s a place for you here. However you show up, we’re here to meet you, just as you are.
This Is More Than a Gathering, it’s a Quiet Revolution
When motherhood overwhelms moms individually, the ripple effects are collective. The invisible load, the unpaid labor, the pressure to do it all, it erodes more than energy! It chips away at a mother’s capacity to advocate, to organize, to show up for the policies that shape her children’s futures: paid leave, affordable child care, clean air, healthcare access, and workplace equity. So, let’s be clear. Kula is more than just a gathering, it’s a quiet revolution of care: rooted in presence, trust, and community.
Why the Village Disappeared and Why We’re Rebuilding It?
We tell moms it takes a village, then leave them standing in the rubble of one that no longer exists. The systems failed but it was moms who were handed the guilt. Not because they didn’t know better, but because in the absence of real support, even truth gets buried under the weight of survival. That’s why Kula exists: to restore the everyday networks of care that sustain families and futures. We believe that when moms have community, everyone benefits: children thrive, families strengthen, and communities become more connected and compassionate.
Care That’s Built to Last
We’re not optimizing for daily active users, we’re cultivating trust, consistency, and community. Our approach is rooted in lived experience, cultural fluency, and the belief that care should be collective, not transactional. From community-led programming to workplace partnerships and policy advocacy, Kula is reimagining what it means to raise a child with a village. Because moms don’t just need support, they deserve infrastructure.
Rooted in Connection,
Powered by Community!
We know that support isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you want a deep circle, a walking buddy, or a quick moment of solidarity, we’re building the village to meet you there.
Kula Circles
Kula Circles is a recurring, in-person support group for moms, thoughtfully curated and paired with on-site child care. Peer groups normalize the ups and downs of motherhood and offer space to vent, process, and share advice. Community members can exchange parenting strategies, resources, and emotional validation, often more impactful than advice from professionals alone.
Digital Touchpoints
For the moments when in-person just isn’t possible, Circle members can keep the conversation going through ongoing group threads, guided by thoughtful check-in prompts that spark reflection and conversation so the feeling of community continues, even from afar.
Kula Swap
Because kids grow and closets don’t! Skip the clutter, skip the waste, and skip buying brand new every time. Bring what your little one’s outgrown and grab what they’re growing into. Simple, sustainable, and made for moms who get it. No guilt. No cost. Just love in every hand-me-down.
MomNom Meetups
Cozy, small-group lunches where moms gather to share real stories over a good meal. From juggling career changes to raising kids between cultures, we dive into the messy, beautiful questions about work, motherhood, identity, and everything in between.
Brewing Bonds
Brewing Bonds is our easy, low-pressure way to help moms connect 1:1, whether it’s over coffee, a walk, or a quick bite. It's for the in-between moments: after drop-off, before pickup, during a quiet lunch break. One cup, one new friend, and maybe even a laugh you didn’t know you needed. Connection doesn’t have to wait for perfect timing or big events. Just two moms. And space to be honest.
Commute Connect
Commute Connect pairs you with a fellow mom who shares your commute, whether that’s the carpool lane or a train ride. It’s low-lift connection woven into the rhythms of your day. No extra planning, no added pressure. Just a familiar face and a steady touchpoint that turns your everyday route into something more grounding. Because support should meet you where you already are.
